| Abstract: | Love is one of the fundamental human emotions, but love is so abstract that it can only be expressed through meta- phors. This article compares the differences between Chinese and English love metaphors and analyses the cultural basis behind them. Knowing these differences is very beneficial to cross--cultural communication and language teaching and learning. |
