The paper makes a brief summary on language thought in classical learning of Han- Tang Dynasties in terms of philosophy of language. In the matter of the thought of language philosophy during the Han Dynasty, the classical New Text School is marked by probing the relationship of Names and Actualities and expounding the Rectification of Names, while the classical Old Text School is characterized by scholastic style and method. The thought of language philosophy in classical learning of Tang Dynasty is characterized by hermeneutic principle of Shu Bu Po Zhu and the preliminary formation of the discipline notion of critical interpretation of ancient texts.
