| Abstract: | The two books by Liang Qi-chao: An Introduction to the Academic Research in Qing Dynasty and The History of Chinese Academic Research in the Recent Three Hundred Years are pioneering studies on the history of the Chinese academic thought in the three hundred years: from the early Qing to the late Qing. On the other hand, Hou Wai-xu's The Early History of the Enlightening Academic Thought is a critical survey on the three-hundred-year history of the Chinese academic thought after May Fourth Movement. |
