| 摘 要： | 在行将灭亡的南部种植园奴隶制与蓬勃发展的北方工业文明发生激烈碰撞的年代里,没落的南方贵族小姐艾米丽垂死挣扎,为挽住大势已去的南部文明与锐不可挡的北方工业文明作殊死抗争,并由此上演了一幕感人肺腑的文明已逝的悲剧。福克纳正是借助爱米丽,表达了对消逝文明的哀思,对南方文明的思念和缅怀,由此为南方文明献上了一曲悲怆的挽歌。

| Abstract: | As a deteriorated aristocrat,Emily desperately struggled in the abyss of suffering induced by conflict between the declining southern spirit and the rapacious industrialized civilization and consequently put on the stage a great tragedy of life.This paper is an attempt to discuss the deep reasons socially and psychologically.And actually Faulkner drew on this short story to express his deep feelings of lament and regret towards the lost southern civilization. |
