The Xianglinsao in Luxun's short story Beatitude and the Tess in Thomas Hardy,s novel Tess of the D,urberviles are both sacrifice lambs of male-power society,but because of their different cultural backgrounds,they made different reflections to the traditional idea.Xianglinsao expressed tame and truckle to the shackles of the feudalist tradition,but Tess put forward to query and rebel against the male-power tradition and the Christianity idea.These different reflections also show different characteristics between the east and west culture.
