日语形容词最主要的语用功能之一是作定语修饰名词,作定语时一般采用连体形的形式。但同样是形容词的＂多い＂＂少ない＂则不同,这类词为了实现定语的语用功能,需要根据具体情况采取多种表达形式。文章对＂多い＂＂少ない＂作定语时的几种表达形式及其原因进行了分析。

An Analysis of ＂多い＂ and ＂少ない＂ as Attributive Modifiers and Their Causes

One of the major pragmatic functions of Japanese adjectives is to modify nouns.The adjectives are often in joint forms when functioning as attributive modifiers with the exception of ＂多い＂ and＂ 少ない＂,which are used in different forms in different contexts to achieve the pragmatic function of adjectives.This paper makes an analysis of these two adjectives in their different forms and their causes.
