张嘉璈与中国银行的专业化改组

张嘉璈是中国银行早期经营与发展中最重要的决策者。1928年，中国银行改组为国际汇兑银行，在总经理张嘉璈的领导下开始进行专业化改组。为了学习国外银行办理汇兑业务的经验，张嘉璈和随员赴欧美各国进行考察学习，并联系代理银行，筹设中行在海外的分支机构。中国银行的外汇相关业务不断被拓展，于1930年成立了专司其责的国外汇兑部，迈出了专业化改组中关键的一步。但受国内外政治、经济形势的影响，中国银行的专业化发展之路并不顺畅。由于国民政府急于建立垄断金融体系，排挤代表商股利益的总经理张嘉璈，他被迫于1935年辞职，中国银行也没有在他的任职期内最终完成专业化改组。但张嘉璈对于中国银行专业化改组的努力奠定了中行作为国际汇兑银行的基础。

Chang Kia-ngau and Specializational Reorganization of Bank of China

Chang Kia-ngau was the most important leader in the earlier period of Bank of China.In 1928,Bank of China was reorganized to be a foreign exchange bank,and began its specializational remake under general manager Chang Kia-ngau's lead.To learn more experience about exchange work of overseas banks,Chang Kia-ngau and his entourage went to many countries in Europe and America to investigate,connect foreign agency and prepare to construct overseas branches of Bank of China.The foreign exchange business of Bank of China carried out smoothly,and the foreign exchange department was established in 1930,taking a key step in specializatioal reorganization.But influnced by international and domestic situation of politics and economy,Bank of China's specializational development was not smooth.Because of the governmental eagerness to establish a monopolized finance system,Chang Kia-ngau was forced to hand in his resignation,and Bank of China did not finish its reorganization in his term.However,Chang Kia-ngau's efforts at reorganization of Bank of China laid a foundation for it to become a foreign exchange bank.
