On Lin Yutang's Interdisciplinary Perspective in Comparative Literature Research

Lin Yutang proposed a great number of viewpoints on comparative literature research in his various remarks and articles,which is closely connected with his knowledgeable linguistics acquisition,Sinology accumulation and his excellent mastery of overseas scientific research method.However,this has been neglected for a long time in the academy of comparative literature for lack of his systematic analysis.Lin Yutang's achievements in interdisciplinary study,which is between literature and social sciences,such as linguistics,philosophy,religion,between literature and other artistic forms,such as painting,music,movies and television,between literature and natural science,are so enlightening for the later researchers that he should undoubtedly be regarded as one of the forerunners in the interdisciplinary study of comparative literature.
