常德唐宋时期禅宗志略

唐宋是常德禅宗发展的鼎盛时期,在常德活动的禅宗高僧见于<灯录>、<僧传>的有60人,主要分布在沅水流域和澧水流域的下游地区.禅宗传入常德,最早始于澧州慧演.药山惟俨和德山宣鉴,是禅门曹洞、云门、法眼三宗发展承前启后的重要人物.曹洞宗与云门宗,是在常德活动的最重要的宗派;临济宗黄龙、杨歧二派是常德禅宗的最后宗派.常德的重要禅师还有夹山善会、洛浦元安、钦山文邃、德山缘密、梁山缘观等.
