| 摘 要： | “薪”是先秦时代一种重要的婚姻聘礼。它在《诗经》中不仅显示其作为聘礼的功能，更多的是由此引发出诸多相关的喻义，如以析薪伐薪来表达性爱，比喻求偶，以束薪代表妻室，比喻男女合和与夫妻关系牢固等，从而成为婚爱的隐语。而这与上古人民的植物崇拜、巫术崇拜、社会生活实践等有密切关系。

| Abstract: | Xin（薪）, meaning firewood in Chinese, is an important betrothal gift in pre--Qin era. In Book of Songs, Xin（薪）not only functions as betrothal gift, but also has many relevant metaphorical connotations. ＂Cutting Xin＂ refers to eourtship： while ＂bundling Xin＂ means a strong relation between husband and wife. All these expressions have a close tie to plant--and--witch--worshipping practice, and social life in ancient time. |
