摘    要:与自唐代开始传入我国的基督教相比较而言 ,佛教在中国的跨文化传播无疑是成功的。同是外来的宗教文化 ,佛教成了与儒、道相并列的中国封建社会上层建筑的一个组成部分 ,波及古代中国的政治、经济领域 ,广泛渗入到中国社会生活的各个方面 ,而基督教则一直徘徊在中国文化的主流之外 ,虽然中间经过一些传教士观念转变后的努力 ,也有过平和而短暂的文化过渡 ,但最终还是没有为中国传统文化接纳和吸收 ,究其实质 ,佛教在跨文化传播中所采取的正确传播理念使它获得了最后的成功。

Abstract:Buddhism has made great success in cross-cultural communication in Chinese history comparing to Christianity entered in China from Tang Dynasty. But why their outcomes are so different, one has become one part of superstructure of the feudal Chinese society in line with Confucianism and Taoism, permeating through all the aspects of social life, while the Christianity was still wandering out of the mainstream of Chinese culture. Although some efforts were made by some of the preachers after changing the idea for a short period and peaceful cultural transition, but eventually it was not accepted and absorbed in Chinese traditional culture. In essence, the Buddhism finally succeeded in cross-cultural communication by using correct communication idea.
