周作人散文新论--兼与鲁迅散文比较

将周作人从"文学革命"到"抗战前夕"散文发展的三个阶段,与同时期鲁迅的散文进行比较可以看出,从人品的高低和从时代的需要来看,周作人的散文固无法与鲁迅的相提并论;但如果仅就文学作品的本身而言,那么,应该承认,周氏兄弟确是中国现代散文史上的两大派别的代表.也就是说,周作人的散文远远没有得到它所应得到的地位.

A Fresh Inquiry into Zhou Zuoren's Prose

Comparing the proses written by Zhou Zuoren with those by Luxun from the time of "Literature Revolution" to pre Japanese war, which marked the third stage of prose development in China, we think Zhou Zuoren's prose can't match Luxun's in moral quality and sense of contemparaneity. But if we evaluate them from a pure literary angle, we have to admit the two brother writers did represent two schools in China's modern prose history. So we may say Zhou Zuoren has not won the reputation that he should have been deserved in prose history.
