现代中国人生哲学的特征及其意义

“五四”以来现代中国学者的人生哲学思想,具有以下几个方面的基本特征:联系宇宙思考人生;综合社会本位和个人本位的人生态度;崇尚自然,反对科学主义;强调意志自由和人生的自觉;既追求崇高精神境界,又重视当下的情感。他们对人生问题思考的价值和意义主要在于:突破了中国传统儒家的社会本位的人生态度,也预防了西方个人主义所可能带来的危害;竭力避免陷入工具理性的泥坑,既具有远见又具有实践指导意义;极力提倡人的意志自由,重视当下情感,对今天依然具有解放思想和启蒙意义。

Features of Modern Chinese Life Philosophy and its Significance

Since the May Four Movement the life philosophy of modern Chinese scholars is characterized by the following features: meditating on life in relations with the cosmos;combining the social and individual status to generate life attitude;eulogizing nature with protests against scientificism; emphasizing free will and life awareness;pursuit of ideal spirit while valuing immediate feelings.These scholars have made a breakthrough in the traditional Confucian attitude of life based on social status while offering a prevention of the possible harm of western individualism.They have avoided the trap of utilitarianism and therefore prove to be of foresight and practical guidance.With the effort in promoting free will while attaching great importance to immediate feelings,the value and significance of their thoughts on life problems are of reference to the liberation of the mind with intellectual enlightenment today.
