Summarization of the Western Theory of the Industrial Cluster

The article systematically introduces and makes some simple comment to the theory of the district, the regional position theory, the growth pole theory and the theory of the industry complex, and points out that all these theories are not the proper modern industrial cluster theory but the headstream which is important to the form of cluster theory. Then the article introduces and evaluates the new district theory, the new economic geography theory, the new system economics, the new social economic theory, the new competition theory and the regional innovation theory, and puts forward that the general cognition of the industrial cluster theory is important to either the researchers or the policy makers.
