汉英回应赞美语策略差异及原因分析

汉英采用不同的回应赞美策略却依旧能使各自会话顺利进行，原因在于会话交谈者遵循了相应的会话合作原则或礼貌原则。但汉英采用不同回应策略的原因却主要归因于文化背景的差异。中国社会推崇“自谦”、“尊人”，因此其主要采用不接受策略；而英美国家提倡“个人主义”，人生而平等，“尊人”但不“卑己”等，因此，其主要采用接受策略。此外，汉英国家存在赞美语使用频率及赞美内容差异，也导致了汉英采用不同的回应策略。

An Analysis on the Different Strategies Used by the Chinese and Westerners and the Reasons Concerned

Cooperative Principle and Politeness Principle can well explain why Chinese and English people employ different strategies responding to compliments but still succeed in finishing their conversation. However, the existence of different responding strategies between Chinese and English comes from the influence of their respective cultures. The Chinese mainly choose non-acceptance strategy, owing to the advocating of being modest and respecting others. English people prefer acceptance strategy due to their strong belief in individualism, equality, respecting others, etc. Besides, the difference in the frequency of using compliments and compliment content also leads to their different choices.
