移民,尤其是灾荒和战乱后的移民,对近代西北商路经济带乃至整个西北之区域经济发展有重要影响。于此非常条件之下,它们表现为以劳动力为核心的生产要素依随商路聚集或流动。尤在抗战军兴时,此种流动所导致技术、资本聚集,加速了西北商路现代产业聚集区的形成。这对西北区域经济发展有显见促进作用。它揭示出：灾荒、战乱作为非常态因素对生产要素流动及其功能发挥之外部环境产生了重要影响。但即便如此,其生产要素仍依随商路经济带之聚集或流动更说明,商路经济带是西北区域经济发展之具体支撑所在。
