| 摘 要： | 在《献给爱米丽的玫瑰》里，福克纳创造了一个令人怜悯的美国南方淑女形象。从对“玫瑰”意象的理解出发。采用格雷马斯矩阵分析爱米丽的“自我实现”及其悲剧，并借用赵毅衡的“全否定”性符号学矩阵来分析爱米丽和南方传统之间的“占有”和“抛弃”、“非占有”和“非抛弃”以及四者之间的复杂关系。叙事的多层否定使爱米丽的“自我实现”显得更加悲壮，值得献上一朵玫瑰花。

| Abstract: | In A Rose for Emily, Faulkner creates a pitiable lady of southern America. This paper begins with the understanding of the ＂rose＂ image, and proceeds to analyze Emily＇s self realization and her tragedy by adopting the Greimas Square and the adjusted version of Zhao Yiheng＇s Total Rejecting Square. It focuses its discussion on the complex relationships among ＂possession＂, ＂desert＂, ＂non-possession＂ and ＂non-desert＂. The repetitive rejection of the whole narrative makes Emily＇s self-realization more tragic, and it deserves a rose. |
