A Probe of the Causes and Improvement Strategies for the Low Efficiency of the Study of English Lexical Knowledge

How well a word is known may determine a language learner's vocabulary ability.And the lack of deep lexi-cal knowledge can have a negative effect on the college foreign language learner's productive ability.In this article,the author discusses the strategies of deepening lexical knowledge by using intensive reading material in foreign language classroom environment.These strategies include the choice of intensive reading material;the activation of noticing;the methods of vocabulary annotation;the study of chunks;the usage of internet and multimedia to facilitate the deep study of lexical knowledge.
