| Abstract: | In the field of applied linguistics, presupposition and conversational implicature are two different kinds of linguistic phenomena. They belong to the category of the extra meaning of the language, and have some similar features. This paper starts with the understanding approach, then explores the related inferential model and cognitive context, and especially carries out a research in the defeasibility, implicitness and dynamism by comparison between them. |
