董仲舒治国方略简论

董仲舒认为只有更化才能把国家治理好。更化的标准是：“为政而直于民”，更化的基本原则是“道不变”。教化既是人性的要求，也是巩固统治的需要。为搞好教化，一是君主立大夫做出榜样；二是安民，使民乐生；三是培养好实施教化的人才。只有罢黜百家，把人们的思想统一到儒家思想上，才能确保政纪法纪的统一，达到巩固政权的目的。研究董仲舒的治国方略，有利于我们理解汉武时期的政策，对今天的启迪也是不言而喻的。

On Dong Zhongshu's general plan for managing state affairs

Dong Zhongshu thought that only through reform could he mannge the state affairs well. The criterion of reform was the policy should be suitable for the people, and its principle was to keep the basic social criterion unchanged. Reform wsa not only the demand of human being, but a needs for his domination as well. In order to complete the reform, firstly, the scholar - bureaucrat(in imperial times)should set good example, secondly, they should reassure the public, and thirdly was to train the people who could inplement the enlighetnment by education. Only by proscribing all non - confucians chools of thought, and seeking unity of Confucianism, could he seek the unity of laws and policies to consolidate his political power. It is helpful for us to study Dong Zhongshu's general plan for managing state affairs so that we can underst and the policy of Emperor Wu(156 - 87 B. C. )of the Han Dynasty, and gain inspiration from it.
