论澳大利亚与印度关系的变迁

澳大利亚和印度都曾分别是两个超级大国———美国和苏联的盟友。冷战时期 ,双方关系是在两大阵营之内展开的 ,维持印度洋地区的势力均衡是两国外交关注的焦点。因此 ,在 2 0世纪的大部分时间内 ,两国外交中都不曾有明晰的针对对方的个性政策。冷战的终结以及经济全球化进程的加快 ,使得澳印双边关系的平台才逐渐构成。作为一个地区性有影响的大国以及处在印度洋沿岸的一个重要国家 ,印度正成为澳大利亚外交新战略“向西看”的重要一环。

On Development of the Relationship between Australia and India

Australia and India were the allies of the two superpowers,the U.S. and the Soviet Union respectively.During the Cold War,the relationship between these two countries was confined to the two great blocs and maintaining the equilibrium of power in the Indian Ocean became the focus of their diplomatic concerns.So,during a lengthy period of the 20th century, both sides had no clear cut policies to deal with their relations. With the end of the Cold War and the rapid progress of the globalization of economy, the bilateral relationship's platform between Australia and India is just coming into being.So India, a big and very important country located on the rim of the Indian Ocean,is becoming one important linkage of Australian diplomatic strategy of "Look West".
