木渎春秋吴城遗址的发现及其意义

20 0 0年至 2 0 0 1年 ,苏州博物馆考古队在苏州西南的木渎一带发现了一座春秋晚期的城堡遗址 ,它应当就是阖闾时伍子胥所筑的吴国都城。木渎春秋吴城遗址的发现 ,对于研究阖闾的都城位置、汉代吴郡的位置和探索战国秦汉之间吴地所发生的巨大变迁都具有重要意义。

An Important Discovery of the City of Wu in the Town of Mudu

A team of archaeologists in Suzhou Museum discovered a city wall of the late Spring and Autumn Period in the Town of Mudu on the southwest of Suzhou. It is supposed to be the City of Wu built by Wu Zhixi, a prime minister of Helu, a monarch of the State of Wu. The discovery is of great significance in researching into the geographical location of the capital city of Wu during the ruling period of Helu and the location of the State of Wu during the Han Dynasty. The discovery will also deepen our understanding of the great changes that took place in the area of Wu during the suceeding Periods of Warring States , the Qin and Han Dynasties.
