推导是语篇理解者构建语篇连贯的重要手段之一 ,因而也是构成语篇理解的基础。推导不仅仅涉及语篇信息的长时表征 ,也包括与连贯有关的信息短时激活 ,在语篇理解和信息加工系统中有其特定的制约和激发机制。连贯构建离不开推导 ,因而对连贯的研究不能仅局限于语篇本身 ,还应包含语篇产出者和理解者的心理认知过程及特点。

The Coherence Constructing Function of Inference in Text Comprehension

As one of the important measures for the comprehender to reconstruct text coherence, inference is the basis of text comprehension. It involves not only the permanent representation of text information, but also the transient information activated for coherence construction. In text comprehension it has its own mechanisms for information suppression and activation. As inference is indispensable to coherence construction, the study of it, therefore, should not be limited to text itself, but should comprise the cognitive processand characteristics of text comprehender as well as producer.
