A Comparison between T. S. Eliot''''s Impersonal Theory and Traditional Chinese Poetics

This paper mainly focuses on impersonal theory put forward by T.S.Eliot.It probes into the main idea of the theory as well as its aim and influence.The impersonal theory emphasizes the absence of the subject and the presence of the object in poetic creation,and it reflects that it is strongly against the Romanticism and acknowledges the traditional western rationalism.It shares common belief with Chinese traditional poetics which also advocates observing the whole world with the absence of subject.This kind of theory is trying to set up the interaction between man and history,man and nature.
