| Abstract: | A common phenomenon in our writing class is that more importance is attached to analysis and writing techniques than to synthesis and the text itself. This inevitably leads to the divorce of theory from practice. This paper, by stressing the communicative role of the text and by studying at length the features, functions and principles of text composition, states that the recognition of the importance of the text is essential for the achievement of good result in teaching writing. |
