摘    要:转喻是英语修辞格之一种,它不仅是修辞手段,也是有力的认知机制。模糊性是自然语言的基本属性;语言的模糊性是模糊修辞产生的基础。本文从转喻的本质入手探讨转喻的模糊化认知机制,旨在使英语专业学生能以语篇分析为主线,正确识别并解释转喻,从而对作品具有准确的认知,提高对主题思想、内容以及艺术美的把握。

Abstract:Metonymy is one of the English figures of speech.It's not only a way of rhetoric but also a mechanism of cognition.Fuzziness belongs to the basic attribute of natural languages and the fuzziness of languages is the base of fuzzy rhetoric.This paper begins from the essence of metonymy and explores the fuzzy cognitive mechanism of metonymy so as to improve the ability of the English majors to identify and interpret correctly the metonymy in the literature they read,and meanwhile,to help them master the themes,contents and beauty of arts.
