10多年来，贾平凹一直关注着乡下人进城现象。他的长篇小说《高兴》叙述了农村人进城的悲剧。进城后的农民不久沦落城市的底层社会，而且受到了城市的冷遇和排斥。而这些农民由于其自身的局限也不能融入城市。他们进城的路还很漫长。

On the Prospects of the Peasants Entering Cities Based on Delight by Jia Pingwa

Since 1990s Jia Pingwa has been paying close attention to the peasants entering cities. In his novel Delight he narrates the tragic destiny of that group of people. Soon after their entering cities, they are reduced into the inferior ones and are snubbed and repulsed in the city. Meanwhile, owing to their own limitation, they fail to integrate themselves into the modem city. The peasants still have a long way to go to enter cities.
