以刘秀为例辨析历史人物评价的几个问题

历史人物的研究与评价始终是史学研究的一个重要课题。长期以来,史学界在这一研究领域仍有不少遗憾。以刘秀为例,史家评价充满矛盾,其原因是学术研究领域中残存的某些思维定势与“左”的观念。从刘秀这一历史人物的阶级出身,历史人物与农民革命的关系,中国古代封建君主一类的历史人物向豪强地主妥协诸方面,可以看出刘秀在其一生中是发展变化的。对刘秀也应依据马克思主义史学观,以历史事实为依据,做出恰如其分的结论,得出合乎逻辑的评价。

On Evaluation of Historical Figures by Taking LIU Xiu as An Example

Studying and evaluating historical figures has been an important problem for discussions in historiography. Historians hold different views on LIU Xiu for the reasons of some out-dated modes of thinking and leftist concepts. Class ranks of historical figures, the relations between historical figures and peasant revolutions, the compromise between historical figures from feudal monarches and tyrannical landlords indicate that historical figures are changing all their lives. LIU Xiu should be evaluated from Marxist viewpoint on the basis of historical events.
