| Abstract: | Xia Yan's drama distinguishes itself as a unique part of modern Chinese drama literature. The dramatist is good at reflecting social life through a portrayal of minor characters' fate. His personalized language, accurate, concise, simple, natural yet passionate, is the basis for shaping the personalities of his different drama characters. His drama language can be characterised by strong artistic passionateness, vividness and philosophicalness. |
