和谐社会之本：市场经济条件下的社会公平

市场经济活动所需的公平观包括生产领域里的公平分配原则和市场领域里的公平竞争原则。这样两个公平正义原则所强调的是起点(机会)的公平平等和背景条件的公平平等,而不是结果的平等。换言之,在这样两个公平正义原则之下的社会经济活动,其结果的不平等是必然现象,因而社会的贫富分化是实行市场经济体制的现代社会的必然现象。听任这一现象的发展,必然导致社会的不和谐和不稳定。社会公平观则强调人人作为社会成员所具有的生存与发展权利,以社会公平观制衡或规范经济公平观,从社会的贫富两端依据社会公平观进行调整,是和谐社会发展的需要。

Prerequisite for harmonious society:social equality under market economy

The principles of fairness demanded by market economy consist of two:one is equitable distribution in production;the other is fair competition in market.Both principles emphasize the equality at the starting point and that in activity background rather than the equality of outcome of economic activities.Under these two principles,market economy will definitely lead to unequal possessions and polarization between the rich and the poor.To stop the ever-expanding gap between the rich and the poor,it's a must to emphasize the principle of social equality which highlights the rights of all members of the society.It's necessary to soften the impact of the principle of economic fairness by that of social equality so as to build a harmonious society.
