The Feminine Reading of Troilus and Cressida

Theoretically based upon psychoanalysis and historicism,"the feminine reading"provides a new viewpoint for literary criticism.This essay tries to offer a new interpretation about Shakespeare's famous play Troilus and Cressida and then come to the conclusion that love is the main scene that the play describes whereas society,history and life are its implication and soul.Shakespeare combined the function of love narration with that of political narration from the cultural concept of male Chauvinism,and clearly reveals the natural relations between sex and politics,thus making a telling exposure of women's rebellion and subversion of the established political order.
