Classical or Modern——Study on Hannah Arendt's Republican Thought

As one of the most important political philosophers in 20th century,Hannah Arendt devotedly support republicanlism which has been increasingly losing its influence.Republicanlism is one of the oldest conceptions of western political thought,going through two phases from classical republicanlism to modern republicanlism.Hannah Arendt not only claims the conception of political freedom without domination and with active action after classical republicanlism,but also emphasizes on the principle of constitution concerning separation of powers and checks and balances,empire of laws and deliberation as modern republicanlism.Arendt's theoretical ethos embodies the amalgamation between classicality and modernity.
