Abstract: | Abstract The Anglo-Indians, descendents of intermarriage between British fathers and Indian mothers, are India's most urbanized minority group. This article traces their socio cultural and historical development in relation to the Indian urban economy. It is suggested that the greater employment potential of Anglo-Indian females than of males has affected gender roles in this group, resulting in a partial reversal of male-female roles. |
