试论《洛丽塔》的叙述框架

纳博科夫在《洛丽塔》中运用了类似于中国套盒式的三层叙述框架:叙述者纳博科夫、约翰.雷博士和亨伯特.亨伯特分别处于故事外叙述层、故事内叙述层和元故事叙述层,但使用的目的和效果已经远远超出了中国套盒的结构现实主义。纳博科夫利用三位叙述者使自己远离小说的中心人物和中心故事,但同时又在每个叙述层上设置有类似特征的叙述者并把他们同作家自己混同起来,以增加阅读、理解和阐释的难度。

On Narrative Structure of Lolita

In Lolita,Nabokov employs a three-level narrative structure like the Chinese-box with Nabokov,the-narrator,Dr.John Ray and Humbert Humbert on the extradiegetic,intradiagetic and metadiegetic level respectively,but the purposes and effects have greatly transcended structural realism of the Chinese-box.With the three-level narration,Nabokov drastically removes himself from his protagonist and the central story,but at the same time he imparts them similar characteristics to confuse themselves with one another and then with himself to increase the difficulty in reading,comprehension and interpretation.
