| 摘 要： | 传统意义上的存现句研究仅仅集中在句内结构研究,包括名词短语的确指性和动词的一致等问题。存现句在语篇构建中的启、承、转、合等阶段,发挥着重要的作用。只有将存现句置入语篇中,才能更好地挖掘其潜在的语篇功能。

| Abstract: | Based on the defects of the previous study of the existential sentence, including its definiteness and agreement, this paper holds that the study of the English existential is supposed to be based on the text rather than its sentence structure. It concludes that the existential sentence plays an important role in different stages of a text, including starting, developing and concluding a topic. Only by referring to the text can we better understand its potential functions in constructing a text. |
