The Influence of Ethnic Consciousness on the Construction of a Harmonious Society in Ethnic Regions at Present

Ethnic consciousness, as a reflection or recognition of the ethnic peoples to preserve their rights or interests, is an important factor influencing the ethnic relations and the construction of the harmonious society in ethnic regions. In the new stage of social and historical development, the sense of equality, development and identification with the traditional culture on the part of different ethnic peoples are strengthened to an extent and they have exerted influences on the development of economy and society arid on the ethnic relations. This paper, from the perspective of ethnic consciousness, discusses the adjustment of the ethnic relations and the construction of a harmonious society in the ethnic regions.
