论魏晋名士的形成

东汉以来 ,田庄经济的发展是魏晋名士孕育生成的经济条件 ;汉魏之际险恶的政治环境是形成魏晋名士的政治原因 ;与这种经济、政治形势相呼应 ,在学术思想界出现了儒道合流的趋势 ,广大知识分子在行为方式上既追求人性自由 ,又恪守封建礼教 ,形成所谓双重人格。至曹魏 ,一批人的这种双重人格特征已十分明显 ,它标志着魏晋名士的正式形成。

On the Emerging of the Learned Celebrities of the Wei and Jin Dynasties

After the East Han Dynasty, the country estate development formed the economic condition which gave birth to the learned celebrities in the Wei and Jin Dynasties; and the vicious political environment at the turn between the Han and Wei Dynasties formed the political cause for those learned celebrities to come into being. In concert with the above-mentioned economic and political situations, Confucianism and Taoism were in the tendency of merger in the fields of academy and ideology. Most intellectuals pursued the freedom of human nature and adhered faithfully to the feudal ethics in their behavior and lifestyle. Therefore, they formed the dual personality. Up to the Wei Dynasty, the dual personality of many people then was very obvious, which marked the formation of the learned celebrities of the Wei and Jin Dynasties.
