The article discusses the characteristic economic construction in the Tujia Nationality districts.It is argued by the author that developing characteristic economy is needed by both the situations international and at home and the local economy of the Tujia districts;and that special strategies must be pushed forward,which can be spurred on by projects,by science and technology,by open-door policy.At the same time,attention should be paid to the relationships between important industries and other non-important ones,between the present time and the long-run development,between national culture nad economic deve-lopment.Only by doing so can characteristic economy achieve success.
