| 摘 要： | 标记语well作为一种常用的话语标记语广泛存在于会话交际过程中，它通过自身的语用功能对会话者的身份构建产生作用，反过来又受身份构建的影响。赛珍珠的诺贝尔文学奖作品《大地》中存在大量的标记语well。通过跟踪well在主人公王龙身上的阶段分布与使用频率，具体剖析王龙使用well的表情功能，并将well的运用情况与王龙一生身份地位的变化情况相参照，可以证明标记语well的使用与人物身份构建之间存在密切的互动关系。

| Abstract: | Well, as a discourse marker, is frequently used in oral communication. It plays a crucial role in identity construction through its pragmatic functions, and is conversely influenced by identity construction. This paper, using the examples in The Good Earth by Pearl S. Buck, focuses on the dis tribution and frequency of well used by Wang Lung, the hero, and analyses its expressive function by referring to the development of Wang Lung＇s identity, with the purpose of proving the interaction between the use of discourse marker well and identity construction. |
