Abstract: | Selected published research on Kanban-based operational planning and control in assembly and flow lines is reviewed. The article focuses on simulation models and distinguishes between explorative and comparative type research. Operational and experimental design features reported are summarized in tabular format. Features of each study are discussed, findings are compared and ideas for research directions are given. |
