| 摘 要： | 托马斯·希尔是环境美德伦理学领域里举足轻重的人物,其主要的环境美德理论思想是"恰当的谦逊"理论。"恰当的谦逊"是衡量事物重要性的一种态度,它要求人们承认"没有知觉的自然"的重要性,正确地理解自己在自然界中的位置。托马斯·希尔希望人们克服自负和无知,以拥有"恰当的谦逊"。但是,他在论证自己的理论时却呈现出人类中心主义倾向,并且存在阐述不充分的缺陷,因此受到了人们的批评。尽管如此,他的理论对环境保护仍然具有重要的启示意义。
