| 摘 要： | 语言中“冗余信息与有效信息并存的现象”称为语言冗余性。各种发达语言的冗余度“显著地超过50％，而英文的冗余度在67％与80％之间”。本文首先论述了英语语言冗余性及其客观存在，然后从拼写、词法、语义和语篇四个层次分析了英语冗余现象的表现，并结合现行的大学英语教材举例；最后提出利用语言冗余现象提高英语教学质量的建议。

| Abstract: | Language redundancy refers to the coexistence of redundant information and effective information.According to experts,the redundancy rate of various developed languages is over 50% while the one of English is between 67% and 80%.This paper discusses the redundancy feature in spelling,vocabulary,semantics and discourse with examples in college English textbooks.A proposal is made in the final part on making good use of redundancy in the improvement of English teaching quality. |
