| Abstract: | It goes without saying "dialect complex" greatly hinders the popularization of mandarin Chinese. "Dialect complex" is characterized by stubborn centripetal force and outward expansion, making it a major deterrence to popularizing mandarin Chinese. In the long run, dialects are bound to shrink in number and influence, but it takes time. |
