美国商业电影片名中文翻译探究

摘    要:由于引进渠道的不同,文化背景的不同,中国大陆引进的美国大片片名翻译与港台的翻译方法有很大的不同。各种参差不齐,风格迥异的翻译充斥于电影以及相关的音像市场。要翻译好美国的商业电影,根据其特点必须考虑到忠实性、艺术性和通俗性等因素,采取音译、直译、补译和创译等方法。

Abstract:USA’s Hollywood,which produces about 500 movies and reaps a total box-office of more than 25 billion US dollars every year in the world,plays a vital role in the world’s movie industry.As China’s gradually updating its entertainment,more Hollywood-produced commercial movies are introduced into the market.However,because of different channels of importation as well as different cultural backgrounds,strikingly different translation methods for these movies’ names exist in the mainland,Hong Kong and Taiwan.As a result,totally different translated versions of the same movie and the DVD can be found almost everywhere in the market,challenging potential buyers.Therefore,it is worthwhile and beneficial to study the concrete methods and strategies in the translation of commercial movie names,and analyze its c successful and unsuccessful cases of translation so as to improve the translation for cultural products and achieve the commercial value of the original movies.
