《白虎通》的史学思想

《白虎通》将史学看做是评价性的学问,即通过研究人的行为而赋予其相应的评价,又将史学看做是政治性的事宜,即研究统治者,劝诫、督促统治者行善政。史学最基本的功用是根据人物的贡献赋予相应的名号,从而享受不同的社会地位和待遇,鼓励人们积极为历史发展作出贡献。历史就是文明创制的过程:一部远古到汉代的中国历史,实际上就是"三皇"五帝"三王"五霸"创造历史的过程。礼乐既是历史创造的最高境界,也是历史创造的基本条件和规则,其因在于能够彰善抑恶,使那些能够给百姓带来好处的官员获得福利,激励他们的善行。历史认识主体通过学习和认知,掌握了历史规律,从而达到精通历史发展的认识程度。历史认识的范畴是"质与文"、"五行",其最高境界就是准确地把握历史的本质"道"。史学研究方法主要有历史事实分析法、历史理论分析法和历史价值分析法。
