改革开放30年来，中国妇女积极参与联合国的各项妇女活动，在联合国妇女政策的推动下，成立高层妇女工作权力机构，颁布《中国妇女权益保障法》，实施《中国妇女发展纲要》，制定男女平等的基本国策，协助政府主办联合国第四次世界妇女大会，将中国妇女对国际的政治参与推向高潮，中国妇女运动成为国际妇女运动中的一支主要力量。
