Evolution of Britain's peace -making policy towards Japan

After World War II, an important issue concerning the international relationship was the peace-making between the Allied countries and Japan. Britain shared the same view with the U. S. towards constraining Soviet. Hence, it formulated its policy towards Japan following the U.S. model. However, there were different national interests in one bloc. In consideration of its own interest, Britain also had its own plans which differed from that of the U. S. It was not proper to exaggerate or depreciate the role of Britain in the formation of the 'peace treaty with Japan'. Britain's accessory status should be impartially evaluated.
