| 摘 要： | 在认知语言学的框架下，从图形／背景理论出发，探讨图形／背景这一认知概念对英语被动句的解释及其对翻译的指导作用。对几种不同的英语被动句句型进行研究，并对该理论指导下的英语被动句的汉译进行了探讨。认为英语被动句并不是简单的由主动句变换而来，而是有其认知的理据，因此，翻译的时候，也必须综合认知的因素，否则不能取得好的翻译效果。

| Abstract: | The figure/ground theory of cognitive linguistics is adopted to clarify the cognitive function of English passive voice in an attempt to guide the translation of passive voice from English to Chinese. The major types of English passive sentences are examined to summarize the guiding principles of their translation. It is concluded that the English passive sentences, which have their own cognitive grounds rather than are derived from active ones, should he translated into Chinese properly with their cognitive functions taken into consideration. |
