文化研究在中国——一个非常个人化的思考

狭义的文化研究的兴起应该以英国伯明翰大学"当代文化研究中心"的成立为标志。从这个意义上讲,"文化研究"进入中国的时间并不长,中国真正意义上的文化研究源于20世纪80年代末90年代初。文化研究在今天的中国学术界已成显学,文化研究作为一种研究的方法、路径、旨趣和立场已经渗透到了人文社会学科的各个领域,在很多并不以"文化研究"冠名的学术研究中,都可以看到文化研究的影子、文化研究的果实。文化研究在中国的前景是广阔的。文化研究的理论资源应该多在文化研究以外的领域中去寻找。

Cultural Studies in China:Past and Present

The term "cultural studies" in literary criticism specifically refers to the trend initiated with the founding of Contemporary Cultural Studies Center of Birmingham University in 1964.Cultural studies in China,in its true sense,started up in the late 1980s and early 1990s,almost keeping pace with the progress of its counterpart in the West.The earliest studies in china,comparatively speaking,always centered on popular culture,the same as that in the West.As a means,approach,interest and standpoint,cultural studies in essence has infiltrated into almost all areas of humanistic-social studies,even in the academic studies that do not appear with a "cultural studies" sign,the shadow and fruit of cultural study can still be found.Cultural studies in china has a broad prospective,and its theoretic resources should be found beyond its periphery.
