“柳俗”新论

本文从柳永词的创作意图与接受者的选择之间的关系这一新角度探究柳永词“俗”的内涵。柳俗是以迎合受众为根本特征的 ,表现在题材内容、语言和表现手法三个方面 :(一)题材内容之俗表现为以男女之情 (甚至是色情)的描写迎合受众的娱乐刺激需求 ;(二 )语言之俗表现在市井方言俚语的运用 ,模拟人物声口语气 ,为受众所习见 ,用韵和四声的安排使柳词旋律活泼、音节响亮、富于刺激性 ;(三 )表现手法之俗表现在铺叙手法的运用 ,叙事抒情求详求尽 ,不留余韵 ,不求含蓄 ,以适应受众的欣赏习惯。柳词“俗”者皆“为人”而作 ,而其“为己”之作亦不乏“雅”誉

A New Theory of the Popularity of Liu Yong's Ci

This thesis probes into the implication of the popularity of LiuYong's Ci from a new point of view,that is, from the relationship hetween the composition intention of his Ci and the reader's reception of it.Its popularity is basically characterized to cater to the public in respect of three points:the writing material,the language and the technique of expression.(1)The popularity of its material is to meet the demands of the reader's desire for entertainment with sentimental depiction, even pornography between men and women.(2)The popularity of its language is to use local dialect and slang to imitate the character's voice and expression,which is familiar to the reader.The arrangement of the rhyme and the four tones makes Liu Yong's Ci lively in melody,bright in syllable and aboundant in attractiveness.(3)The popularity of its technique of expression is to narrate in details without reservation,to convey its emotion without understatement,so that it can pander to the reader's appreciation.Among Liu Yong's Ci the popular ones are all for others whereas some for himself are also not short of reputation of elegance.
